is based in Byron Bay, NSW, with projects undertaken, not only in this region, but also from North Queensland to Melbourne and Perth in Australia and over seas including UK and Asia. The principal and nominated architect, Mark Smith AIA reg 5574 NSW + reg 2094 Qld, utilises experience gained from employment with various sized firms and with enthusiasm creates architecture and graphics that delights and surprises, with its depth of character. Mark has worked in the region for over 20 years and has received an award from the Australian Institute of Architects for the Byron Bay Youth Activities Centre. Our motif is taken from the wave-like frieze known as 'running dog' and also incorporates a stylised image of our dog. We value an environmentally sensitive approach to our every-day landscape and we instill our designs with the sense of fun and the rich character of each location. Renovation of tenement in Ballina




We have been undertaking the renovation of a previously un-loved tenement in Ballina on the Far North Coast of NSW.  It includes the conversion of four small flats into one house for the owners including a studio and two units and landscaping.
We provided a private sense of entry into each refurbished home.  The latest stage is demolition of the rusty backyard shed and replacement with a studio and garage.  The design incorporates solar power, solar vents, solar & gas hot water, optimal aspect, cross ventilation, rain water collection and use. 

Demolished materials have been re-purposed: for example hardwood wall studs have become laminated supports for the bathtub and some fittings from the past are incorporated.
